First Eminem expressed his desire to become anX Factor judge. Now Kelly Rowland and Amelle would love to judge the ITV talent show.
Back in November, hip hop super star Eminem reportedly approached Simon Cowell to ask if he can replace one of the judges on the panel.
He is said to have wanted to take the place of any of the three judges- Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole, because, unlike him, they were not global, multi-platinum selling artists.
Eminem believes that there is some serious hip hop talent in Britain awaiting discovery and nurturing. He is convinced that if he joins the panel, a hip hop super star would emerge.
Eminem’s Hip Hop Super Star Credentials
Eminem was named the top selling artist of the decade in the USA. He sold more than 32 million albums, beating the Beatles at second place with 30 million.
He is the only artist to have two best selling albums in the top ten.
His global album sales for the decade reached 76 million. He came second to Britney Spears who shifted 86 million globally.
Eminem may want to judge and mentor, but he also expressed concern that he may not have the time to commit full time to the show, and may come in as guest judge instead.
Robbie Williams
The pop super star performed his come back single ‘Bodies’ on the show and duetted with eventual runner up Olly Murs on last year’s X Factor.
Last year rumours circulated that Robbie might become a fifth judge on the show. The ex- Take That star is said to have expressed his desire to join the judging panel. Simon Cowell reportedly said he thought Robbie Williams will make a good judge.
Mel B is another celebrity who was rumoured to be joining the new judging line up for this year's series. She had reportedly told Hello! magazine that she had a meeting with show boss Simon Cowell, but would not discuss further.
Mel B is now ruled out of the running for the X Factor job after landing her own television show in America.
Simon Cowell’s Decision
While he is currently judging American Idol, Simon Cowell might still need to think about the two ladies who are only waiting for his call to join the X Factor judging panel.
Kelly Rowland reportedly said she would like to judge talent on the show.
The former Destiny’s Child singer had been rumoured to replace Dannii Minogue during last year’s series, when Simon Cowell was considering axing the Australian.
But with Simon reportedly planning to expand the judging line up this year, the R&B singer may well be the fifth judge.
The latest celebrity to put her name up for the job is Amelle Berrabah of the Sugababes. This follows the announcement that judge Danni Minogue is pregnant.
Amelle reportedly told the Daily Star that being an X Factor judge would be a brilliant opportunity.
The Sugababe is said to be pals with Simon Cowell. With such stiff competition, she will need every ounce of friendship to land this highly coveted job.
