A young beautiful model disappears on her first major modelling assignment in Hawaii – a swimsuit photo session. No one at the glamorous hotel where she stayed has a clue what happened. She has vanished without trace.
After receiving the most dreadful phone call of their lives, Kim McDaniels' frantic parents set off to find their daughter.
The McDaniels are befriended by ex-cop Ben Hawkins, now a journalist with the LA Times.
Ben Hawkins is also a crime novelist still hoping to hit the big time.
Unknown to the ex-cop, the killer, always lurking in the shadows, is preparing for his most daring act yet, and has Ben Hawkins’ role in it decided.
Unexpected Danger
The story takes a dramatic twist when the McDaniels meet unexpected danger and Ben Hawkins is presented with a dilemma that could finish him, whatever he chooses to do, if he has any choice at all.
In the meantime, the killer continues his chilling killing spree. Unless Ben Hawkins risks all to stop him, many more lives are in danger. To make matters worse, the maniac threatens and has his sights firmly set on the one human being Ben Hawkins loves above all else.
Ben realises that to the killer death is a game in which he alone is a winner.
Fantastic thriller
Swimsuit is a fantastic read and edge of the seat, heart pounding thriller.
The protagonist is a mysterious man, more killing machine than a human being. Ben Hawkins is an average human being whose life is thrown into extra-ordinary circumstances, and must find a way to outmanoeuvre and silence a killer out of this world.
Swimsuit is written with typical Patterson panache. Fast pace, action, drama, twists and turns, form a lethal combination that leaves you breathlessly turning the pages looking for the final, mind blowing climax. But like many of the Patterson’s thrillers, the thrill is in the journey, not the destination. In Swimsuit you might expect to be swept away by the ending, but it does not.
