When Bennett arrives at the hastily arranged pick up, he is shocked and enraged by what he finds. But there is no time to chew on his anger.
Firmly in control, the kidnapper keeps snatching children of the ultra-rich but hides his motive. Detective Bennett has nothing to go on but becomes an unwitting player in the kidnapper’s deadly game.
Worst Case
The Worst Case is one of James Patterson’s most daring instalments ever. Detective Bennett is dealing with a maniac unlike no other. It must be the worst case of his life so far.
The Worst Case is told with typical Patterson panache. It is a plot driven compelling read with action, humour and illuminating dialogue.
Worst Case starts right in the middle of the action. The twists keep coming, the tension waxes and wanes until the climax. The sexual tension between Michael Bennet, his maid and a female co-worker does not let up until the reader is almost at breaking point with anticipation.
Worst Case starts at break neck speed and unfolds at a terrific pace but ends satisfactorily.
Characters
Detective Bennett’s unusual domestic arrangements provide a side dish of humour and softness much needed to relieve tension until the next tackling of the grim subject at hand- murder. The supporting cast of character provide humour, conflict, drama and all work to move the story along. Each is believeable and speaks with a distinctive voice and deliver great entertainment value.
The villain is more than a perfect match for Bennet, and remains elusive as are his motives, until the final moment of revelation and resolution.
